Recently Alina started thinking about plants and growth, so we talked about recurring shapes and nature as well.
Sometimes they need each other, they belong together, Alina Birkner says about her abstract paintings.
The shape of the spiral has a special place in Alina Birkners work. To her, the spiral is a very feminine shape and a shape of creation.
Recently Alina Birkner started to think about plants, what the force behind growth is, and recurring shapes in nature. Can you see the plant-like shapes and colours in these paintings?
Rainbows and light have always been very important to Alina Birkner, which is reflected their appearances in her abstract paintings. The rainbows appear as color fields, as ‘clouds’, as stripes or spirals and in faint hues overlayed with another color.
In her paintings Alina Birkner wants to show dreamlike realms and envisions how energies of her surroundings can be visualized and “maybe even, how I imagine the afterlife to look like.”
